3-D Radiation Therapy combines the imaging capabilities of MRIs and CTs with the help of powerful computer workstations. This therapy allows for an increase in the radiation dose with better tumor control and fewer complications.
The Gamma Knife uses non-invasive gamma rays to treat deep-seated brain lesions that were once thought to be inoperable. This out patient procedure uses precisely directed beams of radiation to destroy diseased tissue or tumors of the brain which are determined to be unsuitable for open surgery. This non-surgical approach to prostate cancer treatment allows the physician to treat the cancer with three times more radiation than other traditional methods without hair loss, nausea or vomiting.
