I earned my AB degree cum laude from Princeton University and my medical degree cum laude from the University of Florida in Gainesville where I was an Alpha Omega Alpha National Research Award recipient and received the Faculty Research Prize. I completed a medicine internship at the Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and a residency in radiation oncology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, Missouri, where I also served as chief resident. In 1998, I received the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology's Resident Research Award for biology. My research has focused on basic intracellular stress response pathways and the use of endovascular irradiation to prevent arterial restenosis following angioplasty. I received board certification in radiation oncology from the American Board of Radiology in 1999. I have also completed specialized training in prostate seed implantation. David A.
